The Surreal Scars from Oil Palms (or: We are the Tapeworms of Earth)

The Surreal Scars from Oil Palms is a series of satellite images taken from Google Earth, showing the geometric patterns (roads and contours) mainly carved by oil palm plantations in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. Surreal, odd and eerie, these images depict the human footprint in worm-like patterns, as if we are the parasites of a great, dwindling host planet.

马来西亚半岛有37.22%的土地被用以种植油棕，过去10年全马被砍伐的树林，有37%被转换成油棕园，而砂劳越本身就已有65%森林变成了油棕园。油棕已经在环境和人文上带来了种种负面影响，希望大马政府会保持诺言，停止土地开发，专攻已有油棕的生产量（培育良好品种，改良萃取科技等）。
